Section 2 Selection of online communities
The four German online communities for parents with the greatest reach according to the audience research provider IVW were selected for inclusion in the study: Urbia, Rund ums Baby, Netmoms, and Babycenter.
Table 2.1 summarizes the reach of the four parent online communities with two common metrics, visits and page impressions per month. The table reports the median values of both metrics between June 2017 and June 2019. The data were downloaded from the IVW online reporting tool and are included in the replication material in the OSF repository. We selected the visits and impressions of user-generated content.
